The pace of development of modern Warsaw amazes not only its residents. The cosmopolitan charm of this city full of contrasts, rebuilt from the ruins of World War II and decades of communist greyness, attracts more and more visitors from abroad, including Germany. In June 2025, Anne and Clemens, who run the popular blog and social media profile Travellers Archive, visited the Polish capital with this motivation.
After visiting the Old Town and seeing the panorama of the city centre from the terrace of the Palace of Culture and Science, Anne and Clemens looked across the Vistula River, where, with the help of a local guide, they delved into the alleys of the atmospheric Praga district. The diversity of contemporary Warsaw was a constant theme of their exploration, as was the cuisine. Anne and Clemens learned how to make pierogi, tried authentic Praga pyzy from jars, and visited restaurants combining international flair with skilful use of local products. The PURO Centrum hotel became a wonderful haven during our heroes’ stay.
After a delightful time in Warsaw, our protagonists now know for sure that this is not their first and last visit to Poland!
