Kathrin is a travel blogger from Vienna.

In the summer of 2022, she visited Warsaw and the wild, green region of Podlasie in northeastern Poland at our invitation.

Kathrin arrived in Warsaw by plane from Vienna. In the Polish capital she saw the royal palace in the Royal Baths and wandered through the streets of the right bank side of the city – Praga, where she visited the Neon Museum.

 

For her onward journey, Kathrin took a rental car.

In Podlasie she stayed at the Homestead Kuwasa farm, a base for birdwatching enthusiasts. During her stay, she went with a local guide on a forest expedition to the marshes on the Biebrza River, and kayaked down the river.

"Before my trip to Poland, I was not aware of how much nature and beautiful landscape can be found here. (...). My opinion changed relatively quickly when I drove directly to the green heart of Poland: Podlasie. Mass tourism is unknown here and there are more animals than people. It was probably not the last time that I explored Poland, because my list is still missing a few places.”

And it certainly will not be her last trip there!

Unfortunately, she was not lucky enough to see the elk, whose large population lives in the area, but her budget trip to Poland turned out to be a hit.
