Let yourself be carried away by Poland in a slow style!

We live in an overabundance of information and attention-seeking content, so instead of promoting the entire country, every year we bring you closer to only selected regions and destinations.

You will get to know the mountains covered with primeval forest with one of the largest populations of wild animals in Europe, the idyllic agricultural land which long ago received the Renaissance from Italy, the land of a thousand lakes awarded in the finals of the competition for the New 7 Wonders of the World, the karst region near Kraków loved by climbers, and the tiny corner of the Sudetes, full of attractions, where the Chronicles of Narnia were filmed.

Ready for the trip?

Bieszczady Mountains, in other words the Polish Western

The highest part of the Bieszczady Mountains is under the protection of a national park. The summits are occupied by the mountain pastures, or vast meadows once used for grazing sheep. The slopes and valleys are covered with a natural, primeval alder-beech forest. Its selected parts of it have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Lublin Region, or sanatorium for the busy

The Lublin Region is unique in its own way, but it shares one important thing with other regions of the world with a primarily rural, agricultural character – the spirit of slow travel! There are cities and towns whose golden days ended in the 16th century, and where, just like in southern Europe, Renaissance churches and townhouses pile up next to dreamy squares.

Masuria, or a vacation in the wonder of nature

Most of the Masurian lakes are hidden deep in the forests. Pine trees dominate in the south, more to the north, more spruce trees appear in the Romincka Forest, and the forests begin to resemble the polar taiga. There you will meet moose, deer, wolves, and by the bitten trunks you will recognize the beavers that breed in Poland in great numbers.

Kłodzko Land, in other words the world in a nutshell

It is here, where in The Chronicles of Narnia Lucy Pevensie dreamed of meeting the Lion Aslan. However, the Kłodzko land exists quite seriously on the surface – and delights at first sight! A tiny piece of Poland in the central Sudetes, surrounded on three sides by the Czech Republic, condenses an incredible number of attractions.

Jura, or mountains below

Experience the beauty of the Jura region an impressive mountain range that, unlike usual, is in a valley. The rocky highland that begins in Kraków and stretches 150 kilometers northwest is called the Polish Jura. Once upon a time there was a sea full of bizarre creatures. One of them – large snails called ammonites – can be seen here in fossilized form, imprinted on the rocks like secret patterns. You can also stumble over their little pieces while on a walk.

Kashubia. In nature, at your own pace

A couple of hours by car separate Kashubia from the Baltic coast, especially its open part in the north. There you can take a day trip to the “Polish Sahara” – massive sand dunes reaching 40 meters piled up above the sea. In summer, the unique landscape of the Słowiński National Park attracts many tourists, but we have hints for you on how to avoid the crowds and enjoy the wide Baltic beaches and conifer-smelling forests (almost!) in solitude.

Izera Mountains and Karkonosze

The relaxing, densely forested mountain range with spruce on the border with the Czech Republic is astonishing in its nature and clearly distinguishes itself from the higher and more frequently visited Karkonosze, which, if you choose a good day for a trip, can also enthrall with its rugged landscapes. The exposure of the Mountains to cool winds from the north has resulted in a unique microclimate – average temperatures on the peaks are several degrees lower than in mountains of similar height, and the landscapes resemble Alaska more than other places in our part of the continent.

Low Beskids, one of the wildest corners of Poland

As you wander the region’s desolate trails, you will feel their ancient nature firsthand, admiring the fantastically twisted roots, bulges and knots that sometimes resemble the features of human faces. If you are lucky, you will also encounter wildlife: lynx, deer, salamanders, kingfishers, and even wolves and lesser spotted eagles.

Podlaskie, a natural work of art on the eastern borderland

Several thousand years ago, almost all of Europe looked like this bastion of nature where Poland and Belarus meet. Tremendous oak trees, meters in circumference, look as though they are about to utter an ancient and incomprehensible language, the endless wall of trees on either side of the road changes forever the idea of what a forest can be. Early in the morning, perched above the forest in an observation tower where the forest meets a meadow you can hear the endless grunting of bison. These wild beasts will either go out to the clearing to graze on some grass, or they will do it elsewhere. It is not for man to decide.

Silesian Beskids

Mountain biking and road racing lovers will fall in love with this area.
