Gudrun is an Austrian travel blogger living in Vienna.

At the end of August 2022, she visited Kraków and the charming Low Beskids at our invitation.

Gudrun arrived in Kraków from Vienna on one of several regular trains. Here she stayed at the atmospheric Klezmerhojs Hotel, arranged in the building of a former Jewish mikveh. For hours she wandered around the streets of the former Jewish district of Kazimierz, in the heart of which the hotel is located.

Gudrun also decided to see the former Polish capital… from above. She climbed the Kościuszko Mound towering over the city and the famous St. Mary’s Tower, from the top of which a trumpeter plays the so-called trumpet call every hour.

"Kraków is such a nice city, I don't know why I visited this beauty not earlier!"

Gudrun also traveled further by train.

She was picked up at the station in the town of Grybów by the hosts of the Swystowy Sad guesthouse, where she stayed for the next few days. At an unhurried pace, she explored the beautiful surroundings of the Low Beskids while taking walks, and also tasted the delicious vegetarian cuisine of our hosts.

Her stay in the mountains reminded her of… Astrid Lindgren’s books.

"Or let us take an example from Pippi Longstocking: "Being lazy is beautiful! And then you have to have time to just sit there and look in front of you". Swystowy Sad is the right place for that".
