If you dream of skiing during your stay in the Low Beskids, Krynica-Zdrój is the best destination for you.
The popular ski resort located near this spa town has 8 ski pistes with a length of 8 km, 4 of which have FIS homologation. A cable car takes you to the top of Jaworzyna Krynicka mountain, and from the upper station you can ski down in two directions. The most popular routes are the moderately inclined “one” and “six”, the pleasantly profiled “two” or the more difficult “five”.
Krynica is a frequent destination for winter excursions of Poles, Slovaks and Hungarians, so if you prefer peace and quiet and empty pistes, it is best to go there during the week.
There is also an intimate ski slope in the area on Magura Małastowska, tucked away in a beautiful beech forest, where even in high season you will not experience crowds.
A trip to Krynica can be combined with a visit to the Nikifor Museum – a world-renowned painter-primitivist of Lemko origin.
You can rent ski equipment inexpensively below the slope in Krynica or in Małastów, below the slope on Magura.
