In the old town of Bardo, known as the “City of Miracles,” the Nysa Kłodzka River forms a short but extremely picturesque gorge through the mountains. Impressive pontoon rafting trips are organized here along a stretch that includes five meanders. The route guarantees beautiful views and great fun for the whole family!
Bardo was founded in the 10th century as a defensive stronghold in the Bardzkie Mountains over the gorge of the Nysa Klodzka River. The town itself deserves a short stop on the journey and an unhurried walk. Among other things, there is a Post-Cistercian Marian shrine with a striking baroque pulpit. Since the Middle Ages, pilgrims have been drawn to it wishing to see the so-called “Throning Madonna” – the oldest wooden sculpture in Lower Silesia. The tiny linden wood figure, only 43 cm high, is more than 1,000 years old!
A few steps from the sanctuary you will reach the Nysa Kłodzka River, which is crossed here by a 16th century Gothic bridge. Just behind it is a marina where pontoon rafting trips on the river usually end.
Rafting on the Nysa River in Bardo – the course
During pontoon rafting in Bardo only in small sections you will face rapids. However, the water adventure does not require special experience and preparation, and it takes 3-7 people to experience it in a pontoon. Anyway, there is no need to set off alone – those unfamiliar with the pontoon and water will be gladly assisted by an instructor in safely completing the route. You can also take your children on a rafting trip without any problem.
The rapid river cuts through multicolored meadows and forest-lined, storied rocks. There is an all-encompassing tranquility, breathtaking views and silence, broken only by the sound of the water.
The route begins in the village of Ławica, is less than 15 kilometers long and ends in Bardo. It will take you about 3 hours to walk the trail.

There are many rental agencies in the area of Bardo, where you can inexpensively rent a pontoon. The price per person ranges from PLN 70 to 90. The price includes instruction, helmet, life jacket and transportation to the rafting start point.
